ENERGY STAR is a program of the EPA & DOE
Focus is energy savings
Sets energy standards for products and building for their energy use. Items made to ENERGY STAR requirements are generally 30% more efficient than something built to code
Qualifies products to those standards
They list the approved products and participating manufactures
They inspect and certify buildings to the standards
Roofing is one of the products in the program. To be listed the roof must:
- New Material - .65 reflectance min.
  - Sure-Weld - white > .85 tan > .65
  - Sure-Seal White > .85
- Aged Material [below the bullet “Sure-Weld Tan” add new bullet]
- Aged Material (3 yrs. min.) - .50 reflectance min. after washing
  - Sure-Weld White
    - .60 or greater before washing
    - .80 or greater after washing
  - Sure-Weld Tan
    - .55 or greater before washing
    - .65 after washing
  - Sure-Seal White: .66 after washing
  - Products that qualify for ENERGY STAR
    - Sure-Weld TPO White
    - Sure-Weld TPO Tan
    - Sure-White EPDM
